All statistics correct as of 19 November 2018.
I started this blog on 10th July 2018, and today on 19th November 2018, I hit 1,000 views. I wanted to write something short to break down this milestone and thank you all.
Top 10 Articles
Despite having been live for less than 24 hours, my match report of Switzerland vs Belgium is already the most viewed article on my blog. Published at 10pm on 18th November 2018, it has 108 views, a share of 10.8% of the total views.
7 of the top 10 most viewed articles are about the Swiss National Football Team, in addition to 2 about Chelsea. The final article to make up the top 10 is my first, with ‘My Experience in Russia’ published on 15th July 2018.
An incredible 59.6% of my views have come from Twitter clicks, with the remainder coming from Instagram, Facebook and other sources.
Where my views come from
This is definitely my favourite set of statistics. Above you can see a world map with every country I have had readers from being coloured. From Canada to Cambodia, I have readers from 50 countries in all 6 inhabitable continents (still waiting on Antarctica).
All of my viewers from all countries deserve a massive thanks from myself for their continue support. I want to especially say thank you to viewers from: the United Kingdom, India, the United States, Switzerland, South Africa, the Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, the Republic of Ireland and Turkey.
These 10 countries are the top 10 for where my views come from, so thank you so much.
Unsurprisingly, my three native countries are all in the top 4, with 66% of total views coming from the United Kingdom, India and Switzerland.
Surprisingly, I have more viewers from the US than Switzerland, although I would maybe attribute that to the fact that I write in English and not in one of Switzerland’s four national languages.
Here is the full list of countries where I have got views from.
It’s honestly incredible that I have got 1,000 views within four months of starting this blog. I can’t express how much your constant support means to me, I appreciate it so much.
Since starting my blog in July, I have done everything myself. Thanks to WordPress, I was able to create this website and do everything and anything. From writing the articles to designing the logo, to running social media accounts to creating the website, this is all my work- and that’s what makes it so special.
This blog has been a huge step up in my aspirations to being a Journalist. These 30 article I have written so far have been great experience for me, but more importantly have been great fun to write.
1,000 may not be the biggest number in the grand scheme of things, but for me to reach that milestone in views is incredible. I can imagine looking back on this one day and realising how insignificant the number is, but today it means the world to me.
So, thank you so much for always reading my work, sending me kind messages and helping share my work. I cannot express how much it all means to me.
Hopefully this is just the start, and we can reach much bigger things in the near future. I will of course continue to write here and on 90min, where you can see even more of my work.
So thank you once again, and I look forward to what the future holds.
